It took a while, but we’re finally happy to announce a Leopard-compatible version of Desktopple Pro, version 1.3.
There are lots of minor improvements and fixes here, and one big new feature: “Cover Sets.” Cover Sets allow you to define different “covers” for your Desktop. Switching between them is then just a quick trip to the [...]

I just saw this nice little review of Desktopple over at the Junkie Blog. In one sentence, they sum up the entire reason I wrote Desktopple in the first place:
There is nothing worse than a presenter who hooks up to a projector only to show the audience his cluttered desktop.
Thanks, JunkieBlog!

That’s right! Your favorite Desktop hiding utility is only $9.95 instead of its normal price, which amounts to over 40% off. The catch is, it’s today only.
For those of you who wanted a great reason to upgrade from the Basic to the Pro version, this is it!
Just pop over to the MacUpdate Promo website for [...]

Earlier tonight, I was doing my regular Mac-web browse, when I came upon a review of Desktopple at The Unofficial Apple Weblog. Wow! What a fantastic review! Hats off to David Chartier and the rest of the gang at TUAW!
And there’s more news about Desktopple coming later in the week. It’s not a new [...]

Sometimes it’s nice to have multiple ways to control an application. With Desktopple Pro, you can control it with the menu bar item or with the System Preferences. But sometimes, neither of those methods are convenient.
So today, I’m releasing the Desktopple Pro Widget. A quick trip to the Dashboard lets you launch and quit Desktopple [...]

Desktopple Pro 1.2 is now ready for your dowloading pleasure!
Version 1.2 adds an Exclusion List to the Window Cleaning feature, so you can choose apps which don’t have their windows automatically hidden. I’ve also added some quick-access items to the menu bar, so you don’t have to make a trip to the Preferences just to [...]

I’ve been working a bit on Desktopple Pro. It doesn’t matter how thorough or how long the test, Beta Tests can’t catch everything. So whenever there’s a release, you’re always going to have a lingering bug or two. And today, I’ve been squashing those bugs.
I had just done a build, tried to load the Desktopple [...]

Yes, it’s finally here!
Desktopple Pro 1.1 has been released and it brings a lot to the table. In fact, so much has changed that I seriously considered calling it Desktopple Pro 2.0.
One of the feature requests that I kept getting over and over was that Desktopple Pro should be a Preference Pane instead of a [...]

As mentioned in a previous post, there’s a memory issue where Desktopple Pro appears to consume too much RAM.
As promised, I’ve been working to solve this, and it seems that the problem lies within the Desktopple Preferences. Basically, if you lauch Desktopple Pro and don’t open Upon further digging, the source of the memory usage [...]

Here’s a little history: the original Desktopple was written on a whim. I needed an application that could hide the Desktop, but I couldn’t find any available software that I liked. So I wrote my own.
Thing is, I wrote it fast, and just for me. It was never really intended to be released publicly.
But several [...]
